Zero-Footprint DICOM Web Viewer for Hospitals in Bangladesh
A DICOM viewer decides how quickly a radiologist can read and how easily a referring doctor can see the images behind a report. EMSL's viewer runs entirely in the browser: no client software to install or update, nothing to license per workstation, and the same address works in the reading room, on the ward and at a radiologist's home. It reads from the EMSL archive over DICOMweb and is in daily use in hospitals and diagnostic centres across Bangladesh.
What the VIEWER platform does
- ◆Hanging protocols per modality and body part, so studies open the way each radiologist reads them
- ◆Window and level presets, zoom, pan, and cine for multi-frame series
- ◆MPR and MIP reconstructions for CT and MRI
- ◆Measurements — length, angle, region of interest and Hounsfield values — plus annotations
- ◆Key images and comparison of prior studies side by side
- ◆Opens from the EMR, HIS and RIS by link, so referring doctors see images without leaving the chart
- ◆Remote reading for teleradiology over encrypted connections
- ◆Role-based access with every view logged
Nothing to install
A browser and a login are the whole requirement. New workstations, a consultant's laptop or a ward tablet are ready immediately, and there is no client software to patch.
Diagnostic and review in one viewer
Radiologists read with the full toolset on calibrated displays; referring physicians open the same study on an ordinary monitor or tablet to see the key images.
Prior studies, side by side
Earlier examinations of the same patient are listed with the current one and open alongside it for comparison.
Built on DICOMweb
The viewer talks to the archive through QIDO-RS, WADO-RS and STOW-RS over HTTPS, so images stream compressed and load as they are needed.
